the swap itself could take anywhere from a couple of minutes to an hour depending on the wait time and the expertise of the rep who's attending you... i'd recommend calling *2, say "technical support" and then "other PDA's" and that should get you to a rep who's knowledgeable enough to work with you. at the sprint store it could take a long time or a short time depending on how full it is, now i do not know if they will fix the device like they would any other phone (for free), or charge your friend the $50 fee for either (damage not covered under waranty or the fact that the phone isn't covered at all under normal waranty), my guess is the latter. The whole process (from first swap to second swap) will probably take a long time, so be ready... and when you swap your device back, ask them if they can add insurance to your phone... i'm not sure but i think you can add insurance on swapped phones 15 days after a swap... or something like that, doesn't hurt to ask
