My previous thread was in the wrong place. Apologies - mods please delete if this is not appropriate.
My Touch Dual has a VERY loud shutter sound. I need to disable or at least change it. The fact I can't may be due to local (Australian) or my company's requirements?
I have tried all of the following without success.
- The camera Menu - Settings - Advanced has no sound disabling option.
- Turning off all the menu driven sounds - speaker volume, notifications etc.
- Pointing HKLM\Software\HTC\Camera\Common\SourceOfSnapSound from Windows\Snap.wav to a different .wav file and also to Windows\*none*. Bizarrely I don't even have a Snap.wav file in the Windows directory (even with Show All Files).
- Deleting HKLM\Software\HTC\Camera\Common\SourceOfSnapSound
- Renaming an innocuous .wav in Windows to Snap.wav.
- Changing HKLM\Software\HTC\Camera\General\DisableShutterSou nd from 0 to 1 and also to 3
- Changing HKLM\Software\HTC\Camera\Captparam\Volume from 5 to 0 and also 1
- Searching the registry for any sound or camera references.
- Installing CoolCamera and installing HTC Camera 5.0.4.2915.00 for KAISER (neither worked).
