GPS on alltel 6800 - easy way

This is to make it so the Internal GPS works on an Alltel ppc-6800, without using hacked roms. unlock tools or anything along those lines. its an official ROM that has a small patch.

Make sure you have updated your ROM with the HTC/Alltel ROM from the website and the patch.

ROM: http://216.139.227.226/alltel/RUU_TI..._PPST_Ship.exe
50MB

patch:
http://johniii.tripod.com/Enable_GPS_Alltel_ppc6800.zip <-- must copy and paste into browser
80KB

copy the contents of the 'Enable_GPS_Alltel_ppc6800.zip' to your phone.
Install each of 4 files one at a time to the main memory (do not install on storage card).
start with file 1 then 2 then 3 then 4
some of the install files will only make the screen 'flick' this is good. move on to the next one.
after they are all done soft reset the phone.
use google maps. (let windows manage my gps)
start/settings/system
gps settings.
com 4
4800 baud

no hardware port

im just trying to sum up stuff that took me 2 hours. this should take you 10-30 mins.
more info on this is at the post:
