Also make it easier for people to 'try' things with out having to wait for the website to rebuild it and download it. Also an addon could also remove things from the vanilla like help files to save space.

This is a valid point....App or web??
We do have some time to think about it, as the ROM work will need come first.
This may come down to the resources we have available, i.e., where do our abilities lie, web-based development, or C++, C#, etc.
