hm that is odd. i just ran the leaked sprint ROM with great success.
are you downloading this file?
http://ppckitchen.org/misc/V3.02.rar and extracting it then running that .exe?
does your activesync read connected?
and no, you don't have to run that leaked ROM, it just gives you the updated radio which is much improved. derek's rom should still work on a previous radio.
