I work for Veveo who provide the vTap service.
Could you tell me which version of vTap you have on your phone (Tools/About)?
We had a problem with many new installations of WM6 which we have fixed in the latest vTap client.
So for sure, try going to
www.vtap.com from your phone and installing the latest client.
The other thing that could happen is if you have tcpmp running in the background when trying to use vTap you could experience the behavior you are seeing.
