I had similar probs with the stock alltel ROM. I just ended up flashing OMJ's verizon 2 ROM (im using VZW) on to the top of the Alltel and my phone has been solid since.

That was faster and easier than trying to figure it out (which I never did). Also I was hopeful that my red and green buttons would work properly again (and no they still don't work)
