It is possible. I had download home screen plugin that inserted a moving picture in my home screen and the .gif file that came with the plugin could be changed.

This is the link but before you downloaded be aware that it was working fine at first then I tried to change the .gif file and it just messed up my phone and froze it up. If it does give you problems you will either have to hard reset or remove the program through activesync. If it those freeze your phone it will probally not let your phone boot up but will let you connect to activesync
