Sprint Touch as a fax modem for pc/laptop

The hTc Touch is my first wm phone and I'm loving it. With my old Samsung phones I've had in the past, i'm used to having them recognized as a modem (with the use of samsung drivers for pc) when plugged in with the usb cable. You then have to create a dialup connection and you can input a nbr for it to dial. The Touch however, is recognized as a ethernet device when used through internet sharing... or simply a mass storage device otherwise. Is there any way to have it detected as a modem so that I can send fax thru it using my laptop? I want to be able to do this without using any custom roms/ or 3rd party apps only stock microsoft or hTc apps/drivers. I've searched with no direct answer... any help or point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
