Take it back and get a more dependable phone.

Buy a bigger battery. I like my Seideo 2000 mah battery. 6.5 hours of Internet streaming, bluetooth headphone bliss.

Let the dust settle on the GPS/ Rev A upgrade. Once it's clear that there is a ROM that has the bugs worked out, flash it to your phone. Although my GPS isn't working well, Rev A is nice. When I tether, I'm getting speeds faster then my home DSL.

PDAnet is nice. Maybe someone will post a link to setting up tethering without PDAnet and save you $30. I have PDAnet from a previous phone so I just use that.
