PPC-6800 Roaming Indicator Information

Here is some interesting information that was told to me by the IT dept of the company I work for. We just signed a decent size business contract with them for a load of lines. They have been dealing direct with top engineers at Alltel to implement different company wide phone/software rollout.

"As you said, the roaming indicator does make it difficult to tell whether you are truly roaming. That is one thing I wish they would change. Anyway, the indicator works like this: solid means that you are on an Alltel tower outside of your home area, flashing means that you are on a non-Alltel tower. The indicator does not show whether it’s free or preferred. However, Alltel has agreements with the majority of carriers and it will be free most of the time."

This seems to be opposite of what some people have posted in this board before, this is why I am posting this for your feedback.
