another exactly, people should just be happy it works. If pulling over for a min or 2 is really that difficult if youre really that lost, then i dunno what to tell them... 1-3 min is normal startup time for gps.

and it technically is a cold start. Every time you close the gps program or gps viewer etc. it turns the gps totally off. the data stream is cut. Next time you go to use it its like a cold start every time. So yes 1-3 min is expected unless you constantly leave the data stream (some gps viewer or program) open which would kill your battery.
I wouldn't be complaining if it was really 1 to 2 minutes. I would be jumping for joy.

I just had the phone outside for more than 30 minutes sitting in the driveway. I went out and guess what, no GPS lock. That is not even worth having.
