The shortcut calls out a MakePhoneCall program that isn't present in the Alltel release. No biggie, I just grabbed it from my friends WM6.0 phone and threw it in my windows dir and it works.

Ah yes. Didn't even check to see if it was included with the new ROM. Could you post the exe here for others?
