I received a XV6800 last night, and the first thing I did (out of ignorance) was to try to flash it as quick as I could. Of course, I activated it before I flashed to make sure the thing worked first, and it went fine.

As for the flash, for the most part, it seems to have taken, except now I cannot make phone calls or initiate a modem call. Would this have something to do with not copying down the MSID, MDN and (possibly) Akey? It *seems* to be working otherwise, and the cellular modem obviously works because I'm getting Verizon's friendly "no authentication" message after a few rings.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If anyone thinks a phone call to them would clear this up (with the typical 'I don't know, it looks like it hard reset' ploy,) well, that'd be good to know.

For the record, would writing down and reapplying those numbers from the ##778 menu prevent this from having to be fixed up in the future? It'd be nice to know that I won't have to call Verizon every time I update the rom.

Thank you.
As I left in the previous message, it appears you will have to at least do the A-Key load with a CSR. The message I got said to dial #8899 and that connected me to a CSR. I even think she said "Did you do a Hard Reset" before I did. At least she was very familar with the phone. She had me stay on another phone that she called me on as she needed to watch my progress on her computer as I made a test call with the 6800. But she never said anything about checking the data connection, nor did I (should have to at least hear what she would have said). I can only assume she seen that I had the data package on her computer.

I would at least make the call to get an A-Key.

Good Luck!
