iPhone - Like I said, it is a nice device. It definetly represents some innovation/improvement. It has, however, been done before. Years, and years before. And there are many features that it doesn't have that I can't live without.
MacBook Air - Nice, compact notebook. Subcompacts have been around for years though as well. If you want true portability, a UMPC would be better. Same compromises (no optical drive, limited connection options, etc), but would actually be much smaller and more portable.
I'm also not insecure about anything. I own a Vista based UMPC and love it. I also own a 24" iMac and love it. The fact still remains that Apple promotes a view of their products that is less than realistic.

OK, I'm quoting your FULL quote.
Yes, you do say it's advertising but it really seems to peave you that Apple is doing what every other company does. Go back and reread your own post. It BOTHERS you that Apple seems to do what every other company is doing...
I just find it interesting how strongly people word their posts concerning Apple. I doubt you feel the same about Motorola, Blackberry, Nokia, Lg, Samsung. etc... and Yes they do make some pretty claims in advertising too. And from what I remember, (correct me if I'm wrong) most of the iphone commercials had little talking... When was the last time there was a thread about how Motorola or Nokia advertised their prodcuts?
I'm not really disasgreeing with what you said, I just find it interesting that whenever you bring up Apple and iphone and it really make people react.
