You know, I will have to agree. I installed them last night, and played a few games -- and I like the new card backs, but the card suits are hard to tell apart -- the clubs and the spades look very close, and I kept trying to put the 2 of spades on the ace of clubs... I guess I'd really like the best of both worlds. Maybe I'll go at it with reshacker and see what I can find out.
