Well as moderators our duties are to avoid clutter, try to make information easier to find.
I don't want to use to word rule, but on the
rules forum one of the things we ask to all our users is to search before posting since odds are it has already been discussed and the answer is already out there.
You say you don't understand the issue of multiple questions... just wait until a new big thing is out, you'll see users asking the same questions over and over again. Threads with different titles asking the same questions and the first page of the forum will be all about that new big thing. Instead, by centralizing the discussion, information is easier to find for everyone.
I do agree with you in the sense that if I had just posted 'use Google' it would have not been helpful and pointless.
As far as the TCPMP web site, it could be many things. Bandwidth, your DNS server, my DNS server, them changing servers, or them shutting the site down. I guarantee you though, that when I posted that link, it was valid.
I mentioned Google also so that the user would know where I found the information so that in the future they can also help themselves. If the answer is not found out there, please feel free to bring in the question and we'll assist in finding the answer.
