'm currently in Germany and so far no luck. I'm having difficulty setting up a controlled environment, but the above settings for 30 minutes revealed no lock. I know a standalone GPS can take a while to get an initial lock in a new area, but 30 minutes should be sufficient. At times, it was communicating with 11 sats, but never able to lock. I'll continue attempts and report back if I learn more.
