I know it changes to 1x during a call or text (like it should). However, when I was using the browser, it changed from ev to 1x. I only noticed the change when I got annoyed on how slow the internet speed was. Doesn't matter anymore, I'm connecting w/ evdo. Probably just so random fluke.
