That USB port on the front of your stereo usit isnt for reading music off phone or cards. It is for reading music off of USB sticks. The circuitry in your head unit is very simple and does not carry an onboard OS. Thus, it does not have the capability of recognizing a phone with a different OS and having drivers to "see" that device and know what it is or what to do with it. Go and read the owners manual of the head unit and it will inform you of what that port is for and what the head unit will recognize.
