Re: 6.1 Battery Issue

I was running C&S WM5 for several months. I bought a 2600mAh extended battery because the stock battery was not holding a charge. As the months p***** the battery was slowing loosing its power. Eventually it got to the point where the end of the day I would have only 20% charge. Occasionally I would run completely out but that was rare. I use Bluetooth synced to a Plantronics 510 headset, its always synced. I also have a Bluetooth GPS receiver and a Bluetooth connection to my laptop. The GPS and the laptop is only used occasionally. I do not WIFI. I use RlToday, WeatherPanel and Calendar+ on my Today screen. I noticed HTC Home locked up my phone too much. I do not use Microsoft Push. My outlook is configured to grab IMAP mail every 15 minutes. My weatherpanel is configured to update every 30 minutes.

I upgraded to WM6.1 a couple of weeks ago. The phone would only last 7/8 of a day. The error message about the battery being low would pop up usually about the time I would head home for the day. I decided to try the Advanced Configuration battery saving tweaks. They did seam to improve the battery life. The battery would usually last until I got home at night and threw it on the charger. Maybe 1 or 2 days a week I would get the battery warning. I decided to buy another 2600mAh battery I have been running for only a day now but it seemed to have about 60% charge when I got home. It still seams to use more power then the WM5 but I think the new battery will work. I have noticed in both WM5 and WM6.1 that if I am not getting a signal the phone will get hot. I would imagine its going in and out of coverage and the phone is boosting its signal requiring more power.

I am interested in where this post goes. I am willing to give any tweaks a try. Although the new "fat" battery might have solved my problem.
