You know, I had the same thing happen after flashing to one of the other custom roms. I didnt think anything of it because from the way I understand it these custom roms dont include a radio upgrade so in a sense it doesnt seem like it should change reception.
Since then im using another rom but am thinking of going back to that one to test it more. I kinda chalked it up to it not displaying the reception correctly, although my call quality did seem a little better..
