Bought both separately last week as well.

Want to throw a quick review in for prospective buyers. This is by far the best protective device I have seen for a handheld/PDA. If you are someone who is rough with their things, this is the way to go.

I find it hard to use the device with this on there though. The buttons are very hard to use and the case is made out of a slippery material which almost slides out of your hand, much more so than without a case on. I took mine off yesterday and see again how much easier it is to hold and use the device without this case on there. I am very protective and have not had a problem with multiple Ipods and Palms over the years. Also have the Sprint insurance which I'd love to use since I am sure they'll take my 7 bucks for the next few years each month without any claims.

It is a trade - less usable for increased protection. For me, it's a debate still.
