I am able to dial and connect fine to #777 when the phone is showing a 1X signal. When showing a EVDO signal the phone attempts to dial #777, tells me my login and password are incorrect, and then switches to a 1X tower.

Any ideas? I called Alltel and they said it was an equipment issue. This seems kind of silly to me, since its not doing anything very different when connecting to a 1X tower or an EVDO tower.

go into epst,, by hitting ##778 enter six 0's for your passcode,, look for the security tab...

under those you should have
HDR AN AUTH USER NAME your10digitphonenumber@alltel.net
HDR AN AUTH PASSWORD your ESN number
PPP USER NAME your10digitphonenumber@alltel.net
PPP PASSWORD alltel

try this see if that helps...
