use this software from here
http://www.sdcard.org/about/downloads/sdfv2000.exe (they are the SD cards standard association) and they claim that formating storage cards the traditional way is not standard. use the software above on your computer to format your new SD card. Then copy all of your information to it.
You can also use the SD card as it comes from factory. they are preformatted already, and if not, then the device will format it for you automatically.
(make sure you dont put anything on your new card until you tested it works with your device and have formatted the card to fit your need.).
