first off, i dunno if i've mentioned it - but no2chem your ROM's are f'n awesome!!!

currently i'm running a custom ROM from the 5054 kitchen w/ the HTC home plugin - thats the only plugin on my today screen - and i haven't experienced this problem. and almost always i have my phone set to vibrate for calls and text.
