If am not connected to the internet and just want to use the kitchen ... how do I do that?

Can there be a use where only the user/pwd used when checking for updates and only through a menu item?

Just some other thoughts for the conversation ...
It was not supposed to require a connection all the time - that it presently does is a bug. It will be corrected in the next release. Update checking does not require a password.

On the todo list is adding password change ability.
