I can understand the need for tracking and help indentify issues by using a username and password. I used the early release of the kitchen requiring a password and the instructions weren't clear to me and I inadvertantly used my password from ppcgeeks.

However, I am not questioning the use for user/pwd but have an interesting issue:

If am not connected to the internet and just want to use the kitchen ... how do I do that?

Can there be a use where only the user/pwd used when checking for updates and only through a menu item?

Just some other thoughts for the conversation ...
