i was trying to figure this out just briefly, and i will tell you that the problem could be on the sprint side not sending the updated count.. the reason i say this is if you look at:

HKCU\System\State\Messages\vmail\total\Unread

you'll see it only shows 1 for Count.. no hack or program will fix the problem. like i said i think it's sprint at fault for not sending a ping to the phone each time a new mail is left.

there is the small possibility i could be wrong..
