I'm speaking as an IT Exec for a LARGE financial services company and as someone that was born and raised on the Southside of Chi. I've seen it all and have done what you're thinking about doing.

Be the bigger person. Let the emotions pass. Graduate from school, buy 100 phones with your hiring bonus.
