Now that is interesting.. how do you disable wmwifirouter? I mean, assuming you mean even if its not running at all (which it isnt) but its installed (which it is) I cannot connect to wpa, but if I disable it (remove it, or remove the ad-hoc entry, or ???) it will work? It sure has no effect on WEP network connections.
(I understand this is tangential, PM me?)
Edit - nevermind, saw your other post on it. "turn of auto reconnect on it" - weird, but worth a shot for sure.
