There are a lot more planes out there than commercial jumbo jets, and transmitting equipment is much more likely to interfere than passive equipment. That being said, it's certainly possible for passive equipment to interfere, as they also work by generating a magnetic field (though much weaker). The ILS antenna is up high for a totally different reason than proximity to passenger equipment, though that is a fringe benefit.
