Sales people are aren't exactly the most tech savvy people... I know, I help 70+ every day at work, lol. They rarely acknowledge anything exists beyond their own knowledge, or they completely blow smoke up your .... well you get the point.
It doesn't make them stupid or horrible people, but lesson to be learned: don't take tech advice from sales people.
