Well unfortunately that whole thing is shrouded in mystery. For example, when the checkbox is set, how often does the time get synced to the network? Is it just on soft reset, or on a schedule of some kind, or only during full moons? I keep meaning to test it by purposely setting the time off by a few minutes and seeing when (if ever) it gets corrected.

Thanks for the checkbox reg entry... I didn't know what it was, but figured it had to exist somewhere. But you don't have to leave the box unchecked in order to get the time to sync on hard reset--there's a button underneath for that to initiate a one-off sync.

It's times like this when I wish there was complete documentation for all Windows Mobile features.

And hopefully for Crossbow, MS will improve the welcome wizard so that it autodetects if the device has a phone radio and sets the time automatically first thing. Then we wouldn't need to hack around it!
