Ya odds are its your area. I live in maine and have EV-DO/Rev-A there ,but for the past week I have been in Pa and have only seen 1x. Sprint works on a network and it all depends on their network around your area. you could always try to force it to "EV-DO only" but if your in a 1x area only youll have no net and youll have to change it back. You can check a coverage map at sprint.com and see the data available in your area.
