I figured I would give everyone an update on my progress. I have installed the 3.3 rom. Everything went perfectly. I actually needed to install it 3 times. I messed up the first 2 don’t ask! My fault. On the first reboot after each install it would add the phone stuff and some of the others. But when everything was done and it reset the memory was not that grate. I only had like 10mb free. This was disappointing but then after I did a soft reset I had 35mb free for storage and 33 free for running apps. This is GREAT! I installed all my software and everything works very well. I love it so far it is fast my battery usually runs around 80ma to 90 ma without anything running just idle. Don’t know if this is good or not because I didn’t know what it was like before.
Some things I think could improve
Some of the applications I would like to remove. Like the 6700 hacks and the O2 calendar and some of the others. I want the ability to have a “Fresh†system if I want then I would like the choice to add and remove this software. It would be nice to have a package with nothing it in but the basic functions of the phone. Now I don’t know if this will save space on the HDD or not but it might help. Just a “Bare bones†system. Or at least give us the option in the “remove programs†to remove the stuff we don’t want.
It would be nice to have voice dial again. It was the one thing that I used a lot before. And to have the messages more like the Treo 700p where they looked more like an IM instead of email. That makes them easer to keep track of.
These are some of my ideas and thoughts. I wish that I knew more about this OS. I might start playing with it a little at a time.
