my sling box has worked very well since I got it, for 12/25. I have always kept the oem rom. my audio sync have and picture have been very goog from day one. I haven't noticed any change though . what model of sling box were you using? my model is the solo. I do recall reading something about there being an issue with the video and audio quality between slingbox pro and the mogul.
