Searching the web leads me to believe this is related to the server's settings. I'll try contacting the IT folks again. Kennuyidaho was right to scold me for implying they may be incompetent. They work for a huge school district that is chronically understaffed. I'm sure they have bigger concerns than whether my wife has to get her email through a web browser or not.
