That would be a lock up or hang or a non stop reboot... A solid brick from what I have seen happen to folks is in the middle of a flash using a Ruu they pulled the usb cord out in the middle of it and phone wouldn't turn on was dead..
This method may work for folks to gain S-OFF
Which is a good start... Just be careful with it because if you do brick I don't think you will save it
