Wirelessly posted (EvO 4g: Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.3.5; en-us; Sprint APA9292KT Build/GRJ90) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1)

Yep tried that. Incoming.Verizon.net and outgoing.Verizon.net. in port 110 out port 25 or 587. All works except push. Mail comes in when checked manually or when program itself checks every 30 mins.

From what I understand POP3 can't be used to get push email. Only IMAP. So I guess that's the way it will be.
