I did not configure APN as far as I'm aware. How do I do this? I tried to google this question, but just found things in chinese.
I AM able to send MMS in winmo. I tried Handcent to see if that would solve my issues, but it has not.

Edit - don't feel dumb, the sigh was more for MMS in general, not your question. MMS is really inconsistent, and I think part of that is the way Sprint handles it. I haven't had really any other users complain about MMS - and if you look at a lot of native Android devices, they all have issues with MMS as well - unless you're on the stock ROM which all have some retarded hacks to 'fix' Sprint's MMS problems.

I know some people internal to Sprint and reached out to them about the issue. Felt like I was getting somewhere, but then never heard back. Probably will never be fixed, as I think they have MMS go thru some managed service.
