Re: Interesting HTC TOUCH Test

The Touch Vogue is the CDMA version, which has a 400mhz CPU. If any of you are getting talk time of +5 hours you're probably using the other touch, the Elf, which has a 200mhz CPU. It obviously uses less juice.

I ran some battery life tests on my Bell HTC Touch, to get the amperage usage of various scenarios.

-Low LCD, nothing running = 35-40mA
-High LCD, nothing running = 100-115mA

-Bluetooth on Standby = peaks at 80-90mA, then down to 40-45mA
-Bluetooth Stereo with Music = 150-160mA

-Low LCD, EVDO Browsing = 300-450mA
-High LCD, Phone Call = 300-550mA

while running these tests, totalling 30 minutes, i used 55mAh (Milliamp Hours).

Hope this helps.

oh, and since the internet stays connected for several minutes even after its done downloading all your mail, having it set up to download your email every 5 minutes is going to KILL your battery. It'll keep you at 400mA constantly, draining your battery 10x faster than standby. do you really need to have your email that quickly? if so, have your email forwarded to your sms. (for Bell, your address is ##########@txt.bell.ca). I have mine set up to download every 2 hours. My battery lasts through the day unless i'm on the phone more than 2 hours.
