Here's something that I've noticed when flashing ROMS using the LGNPST flasher:
The files on my phone's memory (mostly in the My Documents folder) are still there after a successful ROM flash. I have a feeling that the user-writable area is a separate partition in the phone's NAND memory. It would be interesting to see how big of a ROM we can compile and successfully flash without invading the userspace partition. That way we know how much fun stuff we can bake in.
