Yea, like I said if you had some app that could basically ensure the message was
never processed by your carrier, then you won't incur any charges.
To my knowledge, Google Voice would be the only way to do that. Unless there's another app that requires data usage only, and somehow 'catches' messages before they reach the carrier? I don't see how that's possible. The reason Google Voice works at circumventing the carrier is you give people a completely different phone number - so the message is never actually sent to your carrier...
