Your battery life will be worse in android due to all the programs using resources to sync and the use of GPS on a semi constant basis. There are tweaks to be done on the individual appliction side or you can disable the GPS location in the settings and that will save you some life. Personally, I just leave all this stuff on and keep a charger close by, like in the car and at work. Worth it in my opinion to have the functionality of the apps. You can also back off on the sync times with your email and stuff to save some energy.
