Do we have an idea of which panels it works and it does not?. I just spend the last week having people test this and most claimed it work. The touch pro2 happens to be more advanced in this area than other devices actually. The novatek hardware in the tp2 can do autobacklight sensing directly on the panel in a closed loop more. Meaning there is no code needed to adjust the backlight once its enabled on the panel. Problem is that panel needs to be configured right but as we all know the tp2 has about 5 different panels. So maybe not all were covered.
I finished the light sensor code but have not committed it. After a discussion with the kernel brethren it seemed useless knowing the panels adjust themselves. Only devices like Kovsky might benefit since they don't appear to have the same closed loop mode like the tp2.
