I think with
hyc's updated RIL, and correct APN info it should work out of the box.
Sprint required a lot of stupid changes because they evidently mangle MMS messages as they go thru their network, but
AFAIK this isn't the case with VZ and the only changes are the ones I listed above.
You can implement them yourself, or if you wish wait for the next build. It'll all be integrated for ya
