You have to use the youtube
app and flip to landscape view and any video with the 3d tag will play in 3d automatically. best way to get access to the youtube.com/3d playlist is by subscribing to their channel. Then you can go through all the videos easily through the app.

Are you using the youtube app or browser? Has to be the app and videos have to be format. I've noticed some 3d videos don't play correctly though, not sure what that's all about.
