Don't underestimate nvidia..they did not become a duopoly in GPUs by chance...they are not going to wait and ride the sales because that would not help them break marketshare...right now their goal is marketshare..
you follow a simple rule, lower price of Tegra 2, release Tegra 3..
also keep in mind that Tegra 2 devices have been out since nov 2010..so nov-dec 2011 is the perfect time for a refresh..atm the Tegra 2 is weaker then its Snapdragon, OMAP and Exynos counterparts, hence a refresh makes sense...
