Okay upon talking to netflix I got the usual generic answers told me that it was never their intention for us to have it and then not have it and they sincerely appologize blah blah blah the lady said she doesn't have an eta nor does she want to give one due to setting expectation. Furthermore, apparently netflix's top priority is getting this fixed. Did I ask more? You bet, I asked them why they didn't fix this sooner because if they are only making the app for specific devices, they should have known about the update...again a stupid answer I got "we have been working very closely with developers and we knew about the update. It was supposed to work but apparently something in the os update didn't agree" well ladies and gentlemen there you have it netflix doesn't have a clue what they messed up on and they don't know how to deal with a big a mess this made...
